Q:
Hi, I once owned a spectacular mala, which I was forced to sell. Now that I have relocated and the dust has settled, I want to buy another. A bodhi seed mala. Does it matter to Dharma, lineage, or to anything whether the bodhi seeds are 'flat cut', flattened to size them smaller, or left round? Any subtle difference at all? Thank you.
A:
Hello Michael, thanks so much for reaching out to us! That is truly up to personal preference! Overall, bodhi seeds are larger in size (12-14mm approximately depending on the mala style) Some practitioners like a cut bodhi, so the width of the bead is smaller in their hand during meditation/prayer, when others prefer to keep the natural seed as is. I hope this information is helpful! We appreciate your support of Himalayan artisans!
