Masterpiece Padmasambhava Statue

  |
  • We are always so excited any time we can get our hands on a Padmasambhava statue, especially one of this quality and size.  Sander and Christy Cohen hand selected this one-of-a-kind masterpiece statue during their last trip to Nepal in 2019.
  • Handcrafted using the traditional lost wax method, this statue is made over a 2-3 month process involving casting, creating wax molds, making plaster molds, pouring bronze, and intricate hand detailing and painting.
  • As you can see in the photos, this statue features an incredible amount of complex designs within Padmasambhava's robes.  Once each detail is etched, the statue is gold-plated and hand painted with bright and beautiful colors.  The face is also painted by hand with 14K gold.

Padmasambhava, also called Guru Rinpoche, is known as a character of literature and knowledge.  Padmasambhava was a historical teacher who is said to have finally converted Tibet to Buddhism.  He was a renowned scholar, meditator, and magician, and his mantra suggests his rich and diverse nature.

This large statue features a variety of Tibetan imagery and Buddhist symbolism including:  lotus flower, dragon, garuda, cheppu, and deer.  We just love getting lost in all of the gorgeous design work and small etched details.  The amount of time, skill, patience, and care that went into making this one-of-a-kind statue is truly something to be cherished.

Measures about 13 inches tall and about 8.5 inches wide.  Made in Nepal.
