Handmade in Nepal, this classic mala features 108 hand strung and individually knotted rosewood beads with a matching guru bead and tied ends.
Hand knotted malas are some of our most requested and popular items, as they are great for meditation practice.
These rosewood beads are naturally stained to achieve their beautiful dark color.

4 wraps on 7.25" wrist; minor loosening

I have about a 7.25" wrist and moderately large hands. I get four wraps around my wrist; the last being quite snug. After redistribution, it is comfortable, stylish, and stays out of my way during the day. It's easy to unwrap and rewrap. It's well-made and feels good in the hand, especially once it's been broken in for a little while. I wanted a knotted mala as the un-knotted variety became annoying for meditation work. Sliding beads requires more attention than just nudging them along. This mala came quite tightly knotted and has loosened up over the last few weeks. This makes the beads more pliable, but also stretches the string. I am cautious that the string does not stretch so much that it becomes impractical for daily wear, but time will tell.

Nice but minor flaws.

These malas look great. They are nice handmade products, but the 2 i ordered for my partner and i had minor aesthetic flaws. Due to this, and them being our first malas, i have chosen to write a review instead of sending them back so we may still practice. This one had knots too small between the beads so the beads sat together defeating the purpose of them being knotted.
