Bodhi Mala with Counters

I bought an old mala like this one in Kathmandu Nepal near the Boudanath Stupa. I loved it so much that I had one of our mala makers collect some fine quality bodhi seed beads and add pewter counters.

Bodhi seeds have sacred meaning throughout Buddhism. It was under the Bodhi tree that the Buddha first achieved enlightenment.
