Tibetan Nomad Mala

  |
  • We had our favorite Tibetan mala maker in Kathmandu create these gorgeous monks-style 108 malas!
  • Features spectacular light coral colored bone beads with naga shell spacers and bone guru bead.
  • Two antique style counters make this one of the coolest malas we have ever made.  Great for meditation!

The naga/conch shell represents the fame of the Buddha's teaching which spreads in all directions like the sound of the conch trumpet.  It is a symbol which fearlessly proclaims the truth of the dharma.

A note about bone beads:  Tibetan nomadic life is hard, and in the cold there is little to eat.  Water buffalo is a main staple in Nepal and Tibet and when an animal is used for food nothing is wasted.  These amazing bone beads are handmade by artisans who recycle and reuse everything in daily life and spiritual practice.

Mala measures approximately 26 inches around.  Bone beads are about 10mm, naga spacers are about 12mm.

Beautiful

Love this mala. It truly is beautiful. And I love the feel and weight. This is my first bone mala and I couldn't have picked a better o one.

Beautiful!

A wonderful mala. Large beads and with a comfortable heft, it moves well through the hand.

a beautiful, powerful mala

this is one of the most beautiful malas I have ever used (including malas bought in India and Nepal). It has a heavy, weighted quality that makes it a pleasure to turn through the fingers
