  • Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of compassion, is revered for his boundless love and unwavering dedication to relieve suffering. By placing this statue in your home, you invite his compassionate energy into your life.
  • The masterful hand painting of renowned artist, Meenu Shakya, brings this statue to life. The flowing robes, adorned with lotus flowers and a Tibetan dragon, symbolize purity, enlightenment, wisdom, and strength.
  • Full of exquisite detail and spiritual significance, each Meenu Shakya statue is a labor of love. By owning one of her pieces, you are not only acquiring a beautiful piece of art, but also supporting traditional Nepali craftsmanship and the livelihood of artisans in the Kathmandu Valley.

This Chenrezig is carved entirely by hand, then cast using the lost wax method. Over eight artists work on carving, making wax molds, pouring hot bronze, and hand painting the gold faces and eyes on a statue like this. It takes Meenu Shakya herself months to complete a statue with such intricate hand painted details.

Chenrezig is one of the most popular of all Buddhist deities and is beloved throughout the Buddhist world. Whenever we are compassionate, we experience our own natural connection with Chenrezig. Tibetans believe that every person whose heart is moved by love and compassion, who deeply and sincerely act for the benefit of others without concern for fame, profit, social position, or recognition expresses the activity of Chenrezig.
