So the red mallet with just the wool ball at the end is only for gonging and not to make the Bull sing, correct? The other stick that has wood and a material combined is for the bowl to sing, correct

Hello Michelle, yes exactly! This mallet is another great tool in your toolbox. It will create a different tone than the complimentary striker that comes with your bowl and is great for gongs as well. Namaste!

What size bowl would be recommended to be used for this striker?

Hi, I'm interested in a singing bowl and I noticed that they come with a wooden striker. Does the red wool mallet create a different sound ?

it does, you get the lowest tones from the mallet, while the bowl is for striking and singing.
