According to tradition, Shakyamuni shared his enlightened wisdom, promoted peace, and taught people how to unleash the great potential of their lives. His compassionate intention was to enable all people to attain the same awakened state of life that he had attained.
This statue is full of colorful painted detail including Tibetan dragons, lotus flowers, and swimming fish. Dragons have special meaning and symbolism in many cultures. They are fierce protectors and wise leaders, guardians and sages. Tibetan dragons are protectors of Buddhism whose thunderous voices awaken us from delusion. The face of the statue is painted with gold leaf in the traditional manner.
Statue measures approximately 8.5 inches tall and 6 inches wide at the base. Handmade in Nepal.
