Over the last 20 years, DharmaShop founder Sander Cohen has been collecting Dzi beads of all ages and designs from both Nepal and Taiwan. This particular ancient Diamond Eyes Dzi comes from Sander's personal collection. He acquired itfrom Tibetan artifacts collector we have worked and traded with for two decades who has been traveling Asia and the Himalayas for over 30 years.
This Dzi is a one-of-a-kind, exceptional antiquity. The Double Diamond Eyes design is quite clear. The bead features some chips and dents along with irregular shaped bead holes. These "imperfections" are what make this bead so incredibly special. The exquisite texture on this bead shows its rich history and age. These markings, surface texture, and translucent agate banding are what modern Dzi beads strive to emulate, and here it is in its original ancient form.
Dzi beads are believed to offer protection for the wearer. The Double Diamond Eyes design is often compared to the Dorje Dzi design, also known as the "Dharma Dzi." It is believed to help increase concentration and expel negativity. The dorje is a sacred Buddhist tool often used by practitioners to help achieve enlightenment.
Bead measures just under 1" long and is about 0.5" wide. Adjustable gold-filled chain measures approximately 22" and can be tightened as desired.
This bead is pictured on an adjustable gold-filled chain but can also be strung on vegan leather cord, or on a mala necklace or bracelet using materials seen on our website. Feel free to contact us about our options!
