White and Blue Mantra Kata

Beautiful white and blue silk kata!  Screen printed with a mantra.  This kata is one of the most popular styles in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The kata symbolizes purity and compassion.  They are worn or presented with incense at many ceremonial occasions including, but not limited to, weddings, funerals, and births.  White katas symbolize the pure heart of the giver, and the blue color symbolizes the sky.
