Sun Bowl: Dispeller of Darkness

• Introducing the Sun Bowl, a hand hammered singing bowl crafted by highly skilled artisans in the Kathmandu Valley and exclusive to DharmaShop. Designed and crafted by the same group who originated the Moon Bowls.
• Unlike the Moon bowl, with imitations that can now be found elsewhere, the Sun Bowl offers a new and exclusive design unavailable anywhere else in the USA. This bowl is a testament to the longstanding collaboration between DharmaShop and these talented artisans.
• Sourced on our trip to Nepal in March of 2024, the Sun Bowl features a gleaming gold finish, symbolizing the brilliance of the sun. The hand etched sun design reinforces this connection, while the Sun Mantra, "Om Suryaya Namaha," honors the sun's life-giving energy.

Each bowl is adorned with intricate hand etched designs including a radiant sun, the artists signature, "Kalyan," the Sanskrit word for bronze, "kansa," and the sacred Sun Mantra. Each mark is meticulously carved by hand using traditional crafting methods.

Translating to, "dispeller of darkness," chanting the Sun Mantra helps to illuminate the mind, dispel negative thoughts, and bring inner clarity. This bowl, a physical embodiment of the sun's energy, is a powerful tool for sound healing. The mantras ability to dispel darkness is amplified by the bowls vibrations. Chanting or focusing on the mantra while playing your bowl aligns you with this powerful energy, promoting feelings of vitality, warmth, and optimism.

The Sun Bowl is a beautiful example of a Thadobati style bowl with tall, slender walls and a flat base. At nearly 9 inches in diameter, this distinctive shape is prized for producing exceptionally calming and resonant tones.
