Beads are hand carved water buffalo bone strung on a durable, stretchy cord. Use it to count mantras during meditation practice, or wear it with a stack of your favorite bracelets or wrist malas.
A note about bone beads: In the Himalayas, it is typical for large animals such as yak or water buffalo to be used for service, food, clothing, utensils, and ritual items. Given the limited amount of resources and the religious practices of the people in the region, it is important that none of the animal goes to waste. These amazing bone beads are handcrafted by artisans who recycle and reuse everything in daily life and spiritual practice.
Mala measures approximately 6 1/2 inches around, but will stretch to fit most wrists. Beads are about 16mm long and 10mm wide. Includes 12 beads, 1 guru bead, and a 1 inch tassel.
