These sterling silver pendant necklaces are extremely detailed and handmade by our artisans in Nepal, the Shakya family. Each pendant features coral, lapis, naga shell, and turquoise accents in the shape of a lotus and half fish, half elephant figure. The back features a handcrafted Om symbol. Absolutely no detail was spared in the making of these gorgeous necklaces, and it does not go unnoticed.
In Tibetan Buddhism, the fish symbolizes living in a state of fearlessness, without danger of drowning in the ocean of sufferings, and migrating from place to place freely and spontaneously. The main characteristics of the elephant are his strength and steadfastness, therefore it has become a symbol of physical and mental strength, as well as responsibility and earthiness.
Pendant measures approximately 3 1/2 inches in length from top of bale and 2 inches wide. Includes a sterling silver rolo chain that is approximately 24 inches around. Handmade in Nepal.
