Gold Dharma Wheel Thangka

  |
  • The word thangka translates to "recorded message."  Thangka painting is an ancient Tibetan Buddhist art form that combines deities, symbolism, and sacred geometry.
  • Our Tibetan thangkas are hand painted by master artists and apprentices in the Kathmandu Valley.  Thangka painting schools in Nepal help to keep Tibetan traditions alive.
  • Our small unframed thangkas make these masterworks available for a very affordable price.  It's a perfect addition to your home, meditation area, or altar space.

This thangka features a blue lotus petal ring with golden mandala designs and the Dharma Wheel in the center.  The Dharma Wheel is one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols and also one of the oldest symbols in Buddhism.  It is a symbol of rebirth and awakening, and represents the turning wheel of Buddha's teachings.

Each detail is painted by hand on cotton canvas using natural mineral and vegetable pigments with 24K gold accents.  The intricate brushstrokes and extraordinary detail make these thangkas genuine works of art.  It comes unframed and ready for Western style framing of your choosing.

Measures approximately 10.6 by 10.6 inches.

Thangka does not include a frame.  We suggest shopping with your local frame or craft store to select a style that best suits you and your thangka!  Looks great in a classic Western style photo frame or wooden magnetic poster hanger frames.
