Ancient Sulemani Agate Protection Bead

• An incredibly rare ancient agate Sulemani bead with a light and ethereal hue from DharmaShop founder, Sander Cohen's curated collection of specialty beads. This specific bead was taken from an heirloom necklace collected in Kathmandu.
• Ancient beads like this one, whether made from Carnelian, Sardonyx, or Agate, were often used not only for decoration, but also as protection amulets to shield the wearer from negativity or evil.
  
• The age of this ancient agate Sulemani bead is estimated to be between 600 and 1,000 years old or more. Hand strung at the DharmaShop on an adjustable sterling silver chain.

Some Sulemani Agate beads were often used as prayer beads as they were believed to ensure health and longevity. This stunning Agate bead features a light, almost white hue with some chips and agate banding that show its antiquity and plenty of striped Agate banding. The minor surface imperfections come from age and are considered auspicious.

Agate is known to be a stone of strength, and can help to balance yin/yang energies, courage, protection, healing, and calming.
