Handmade by master artisans, this Tibetan singing bowl was carefully selected in Kathmandu from an absolutely stunning collection of carved bowls.
Each bowl requires an incredible amount of time and skill to create, therefore this style is limited. Every piece is hand hammered and polished before being etched with extraordinary detail.
Inside features an intricate Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva image along with Eternal Knot symbols and the mantra of compassion, Om Mani Padme Hum, inside of mandala designs. The repeated compassion mantra decorates the outside and a unique sacred geometry design grounds the base of the bowl.
Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, also known as the Thousand Arm Chenrezig, is the embodiment of great compassion, vowed to free all sentient beings from suffering. In Buddhist art,Avalokiteshvara is often shown with multiple heads and arms which symbolize his limitless capacity to perceive suffering and to help all beings.
Om Mani Padme Hum, the compassion mantra, invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion. It can be seen inside of Sri Yantra mandala designs that are said to be the geometric representation of the most sacred sounds in the Universe, including the sound of Om.
The base of the bowl displays a geometrical design based on the principles of sacred geometry. These designs are often used for meditation to connect on a deeper spiritual level.
Your bowl comes with a wood and suede striker and our Stone & Thread cushion hand stitched and stuffed with up-cycled materials. Includes a DharmaShop keepsake bag.

The sound is very deep and amazing. It is easy to make the bowl sing by going around it without needing to hit it first. It rings for a VERY long time. The etching is beautiful with the Sanskrit prayers and depiction of the compassion Buddha.
I'm extremely pleased with this bowl. It sings so beautifully, with a heavenly sound, that it amazes me. This is the third bowl I bought from Dharma Shop, and I know I'm assured of quality. Thank you so much.
My experience with the dharmashop was wonderful.. This bowl has quickly become my favorite. It is not only beautiful to look at, but sings like no other. The depth of sound and long sustain are truly heavenly. I will definitely be ordering another bowl from this company. What you see and hear is exactly what you get.

Q:What is the metal used for this bowl?

A:Hello Daniel, thanks for your inquiry! Most traditional Tibetan singing bowls including the Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva Singing Bowl are made using a special blend of 7 metals including: gold, silver, copper, iron, tin, mercury, and lead. However, only 2 metals are critical to the sound and function of a singing bowl. This bronze alloy of copper and tin is commonly referred to as bell metal. Bell metal is about 80% copper and 20% tin. So, our singing bowls are made up mostly of bell metal, with a very small amount of the additional 7 metals added due to the traditional aspects although they do not affect the sound or function of the bowl. I hope this information is helpful! We appreciate your inquiry and support!

A:Hello Jaime, thanks so much for reaching out to us! Due to the handmade, hand hammered nature of our singing bowls, the tones and musical notes can vary from bowl to bowl and also how and where it is played! I would suggest listening to the recording listed on the product description, for that will provide the best idea of sound, and you can see if it is a great fit for you and your practice! I hope this information is helpful! We appreciate your inquiry and support.
