Many customers have asked for a traditional Tibetan mala design with smaller Bodhi Seed beads, so our artisans put together this mala just for you!
Handmade in Kathmandu, the mala features fine quality Bodhi beads that have been cut on each end, making them flat in the traditional manner.
This unique aesthetic allows for a shorter drop length when wearing the necklace and offers a more adaptable size option for handling during meditation and counting.

Bodhi Seed beads can be used for counting all types of mantras as well as other prayers. These dark-speckled seed beads have special meaning for all seekers of divine wisdom. "Bodhi" in Sanskrit means enlightenment; as an "enlightened" seed, many practitioners use these malas for their essence and inherent teachings within each seed.

Size:

Measures approximately 32-34 inches around. Due to the style of the beads, circumference of mala may vary slightly.

Flat beads are about 12-14mm.

A mala made to last

Over the years I’ve purchased several malas from Dharma Shop. They never fail to deliver quality products. In 2016 I ordered one of these Traditional Bodhi Seed Malas and 9 years later it’s still a favorite. I’ve never had it re-strung (though the cord is a bit stretched now) but I am hoping to have this done once I finish massage school.

Can you wear these on your wrist? You have 2 different types but they both seem the same color. which is the lighter color? The traditional bodhi beads or the dark bodhi beads? Thank you for your time.

Hi Karen! Thanks so much for reaching out to us! Because of the nature of these seed beads, the colors can vary slightly from batch to batch. I would suggest following our main product image, for that is updated when the new malas we receive differ in color. And yes! HI! I love the Mala! I'm new to meditation and I'm curious, when I'm meditating, going from bead to bead, do I separate each bead creating a little space in between? Thank You!

Some prefer having their malas knotted to avoid any movement from bead to bead, when others prefer the natural separation for it helps them stay on track.
