Red Tibetan Yak Bone Wrist Mala

This bold yak bone wrist mala makes for a great accessory!  With deep red beads that are inlaid with brass and coral and turquoise chips, it makes for a traditional and classic supplement to any outfit.

Traditional bone beads are hand inlaid with brass.  Each bead is entirely unique, but has gone through some wear and tear during the storage and shipping process from Nepal.  Nevertheless, these bone beads and their flaws allow us to further reflect upon the Buddhist teachings of impermanence.  They serve as a reminder to live in the present moment; because nothing is permanent, everything is possible.

A note about bone beads:  Tibetan nomadic life is hard, and in the cold there is little to eat.  Water buffalo is a main staple in Nepal and Tibet and when an animal is used for food nothing is wasted.  These amazing bone beads are hand inlaid by artisans who recycle and reuse everything in daily life and spiritual practice.

Adjustable wrist mala that is strung on black cord can fit wrists from 5 to 8 inches around.  Includes 23 12mm inlaid yak bone beads with two 8mm wood toggle beads.  Handmade in Kathmandu, Nepal.
