Monk's Mala 39

This monk's mala includes disk-shaped polished bone beads with bone and carnelian spacers.  It features a larger guru bead as well as traditional, antique-style, Tibetan bell and dorje mala counters that are hand strung on leather.  Perfect monk's mala for everyday meditation.

A note about bone beads:  Tibetan nomadic life is hard, and in the cold there is little to eat.  Yak and water buffalo are main staples in Nepal and Tibet, and when an animal is used for food nothing is wasted.  These amazing bone beads are handcrafted by artisans who recycle and reuse everything in daily life and spiritual practice.
