Buried Thunderbolt Pumtek Bracelet 05

  |
Buried Thunderbolt of Enlightenment
  • The word Pumtek means, "buried thunderbolt" and these Pumtek beads are among the rarest and most sought after collectable beads in the world.
  • Pumtek beads are made of opalized wood, a material that is indigenous to Burma where the beads originated.  Opalized wood occurs when wood is fossilized and turned into stone, making these beads extremely unique.
  • These antique beads are highly collectable.  DharmaShop founder, Sander Cohen, sourced these beads in Nepal on one of his first trips there.  The one-of-a-kind Pumtek bead is hand strung with painted water buffalo bone beads and dark wood spacers.

This bracelet features a geometric design with four tiger stripes.  This symmetrical design believed to represent the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water.  Because it is from the earth and was once organic material, petrified wood is known for its strong grounding properties and calming energies.  Many Burmese and Tibetans revere these beads as prized spiritual objects that can also act as protection amulets.

Bone beads are handcrafted by artisans who recycle and reuse everything in daily life and spiritual practice.  They are a powerful reminder of impermanence; because nothing is permanent, everything is possible.

The dark wood beads are also known to provide healing, stability and grounding energy.

Bracelet measures approximately 7.5 inches around on stretchy cord.  Pumtek bead is just over 2 inches long.  Bone beads are about 12mm, wood beads are about 10mm.
