An original DharmaShop heritage item - Back in stock after 6 years!

  • From Buddhist centers and temples, to monasteries and stupas, prayer wheels are turned clockwise to release prayers and mantras into the heavens.
  • This large temple style prayer wheel features a carved wooden base with a hand painted lotus flower design, and can be mounted either indoors or in a protected outdoor area.  Also looks great placed on a shelf or altar space!
  • Spin the wheel clockwise whenever you feel the need to improve your karma.  We hope it brings you continuous good wishes and joy!

This prayer wheel was one of the original items Sander and Christy offered at DharmaShop.  We are so excited to have it back in stock!  After the earthquakes in 2015, many of the woodworkers left their shops to help repair and restore heritage sites in Kathmandu.  We couldn't be happier to reconnect with them and bring this amazing prayer wheel with wooden base back to our DharmaShop community!

The copper body is hand hammered with 2 lines of the Tibetan mantra of compassion, Om Mani Padme Hum.  This mantra invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion.  When the wheel is turned clockwise, it sends the prayers to the universe thereby generating good karma.

The entire wheel and base measure approximately 17.5 inches tall and 7 inches at the widest point.  Includes 2 mounting brackets.  Handmade in Nepal.
