Vintage Tibetan Brass Skull Mala Counters

• Sold as a set of 2.  Handmade in Nepal of antiqued brass, these vintage mala counters feature a Tibetan/Newar impermanence skull design.

• Mala counters like these are placed between the beads of your mala to count large amounts of mantras.  The act of moving the mala counter along the beads can help to create a sense of rhythm and flow, which can make the practice more enjoyable.

• The skull in Buddhism is a powerful symbol of impermanence and a reminder to live in the moment as nothing is permanent.

Aside from adding aesthetics and meaning to your mala, a traditional mala counter typically has 10 beads on a string and is used to keep track of ten thousand mantras. This ancient system gives you the opportunity to keep track of literally millions of mantras.
