Traditional Tibetan Bone Wrist Mala

  |

PAIR IT WITH

  • Made in Nepal, this traditional wrist mala bracelet features naturally stained water buffalo bone beads with a matching guru.
  • They serve as a reminder to live in the present moment; because nothing is permanent, everything is possible.
  • Because the beads are naturally stained, the color can begin to fade over time and with use. We consider this special process to be a visual representation of the growth in your practice and a further reminder of impermanence.

Pair it with the matching Traditional Tibetan Bone Mala Necklace!

Many Buddhist practices revolve around impermanence. We live only in the present moment and it is helpful to remember that nothing lasts. Bone jewelry is featured prominently in Tibetan symbolism and many of our DharmaShop customers are fond of this reminder that nothing lasts forever.

A note about bone beads: In the Himalayas, it is typical for large animals such as yak or water buffalo to be used for service, food, clothing, and ritual items. Given the limited amount of resources and the religious practices of the people in the region, it is important that none of the animal goes to waste. These amazing bone beads are handcrafted by artisans who recycle and reuse everything in daily life and spiritual practice.

Size:

Small measures approximately 6.5" around when fully tightened and opens to about 8".  Large measures about 7.25" around and opens to about 10" around.

Beads are 8-9mm.
