Down to Earth Tibetan Agate Bracelet

  |
  • This brand-new and limited bracelet was hand-strung and designed by DharmaShop founder, Sander Cohen, using Botswana agate and copper sourced on his travels to Nepal and Taiwan in 2019.
  • Although these particular beads were sourced in the Himalayas, Botswana agate actually originates from Africa, whose landscape provides its beautiful banded color range.
  • Aside from its durability and beauty, many wear copper for its association with anti-inflammatory and circulatory benefits.

Botswana agate is a semi-precious stone that is formed when layers of silica are deposited over time.  Traditionally worn as a talisman to ward off evil spirits, Botswana agate promotes creativity and is known for its soothing and calming properties.  It is also used as a tool for meditation as it encourages contemplation and spiritual growth in one's life.

Striped agates like these are actually the original beads, before dzi beads, that Tibetans collected.  This is why striped agates are sometimes referred to as the "Mother of Dzi".  Tibetan Buddhists believe that agate helps stabilize the aura and eliminate negative energies. Every bead has its own beautiful details just like a beloved dzi. It also carries rich spiritual significance, making this not just an accessory, but also a tool for mindfulness and peace.

Sizing:

Bracelet is available in two sizes on stretchy cord.  Beads are 12mm.  Small measures approximately 6.75 inches around.  Large measures approximately 8 inches around.
