Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, also known as the Thousand Arm Chenrezig, is the embodiment of great compassion, vowed to free all sentient beings from suffering. In Buddhist art,Avalokiteshvara is often shown with multiple heads and arms which symbolize his limitless capacity to perceive suffering and to help all beings.
Om Mani Padme Hum, the compassion mantra, invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion. It can be seen inside of Sri Yantra mandala designs that are said to be the geometric representation of the most sacred sounds in the Universe, including the sound of Om.
The base of the bowl displays a geometrical design based on the principles of sacred geometry. These designs are often used for meditation to connect on a deeper spiritual level.
